Part of Holistic Health is finding fulfillment.  According to Tony Robbins; “Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy:  true fulfillment.” 

Contribution can take many forms. Giving your time, giving your money, sharing your knowledge are great examples. But the key is to do it with the best intention, and expecting nothing in return…not even praise or acknowledgement. 

If you are looking for ways to give back, perhaps you can start with the basics:

  • Volunteering; at a seniors home, homeless shelter, community clean-up project, pet shelter, crisis center etc.  You can volunteer your knowledge, your skills and/or your time.
     

  • Donating; used clothing, furniture or housewares to a non-profit second-hand store.  Unwanted gifts, unused gift cards, or new toiletries to shelters or safe houses.  Non-perishable food items to the Food Bank, or financial contributions to any worthy charitable organization or wor...

As a Holistic Nutritionist, I get asked all the time; "what does Holistic mean anyways? " Apparently inquiring minds want to know!  Well by Google.ca definition as of today:

Philosophy

adjective: holistic

  1. characterized by comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.
     

          Medicine
 

               characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account                            mental and social factors, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.
 

And that is a great definition!  As a Holistic Nutritionist, I recognize that the body works synergistically, and wholly.  I understand that everything is connected – intimately, and it is nearly impossible to affect one part of the body without having a ripple effect on the othe...
